Teen couple convicted of murdering a 16 year old girl

Engaged teenage couple killed another teenager.

On May 14 in a small town in Nevada, two teenager by the name of  Melissa Smith ( age 17) and Keith Jacobsson ( age 18) stabbed CarolineWilliamsson ( age 16) to death, because Melissa was jealouse of the relationship that thevictim had with her boyfriend. The couple decided to kill the competion to save their relationship.

The couple had issius

Kieth had previously dated Caroline but had later broken up. Melissa was jeoulous of her boyfriend and the victim’s past relationship. And when Kieth and the victim started talking again it caused a big problem in the couple’s relationship.The couple decided that the easiest way to stop all their problems was to get rid off the competition.

Was murdered during the day

The victim was murdered on May 14 around 4 pm when she was walking home from school. The victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest. The victim’s corps was found just a few blocks away from the couple’s apartment behind a warehouse.

Claimed it was selfdefence

Keith was the first one to get arrested for the murder of Caroline Williamsson, but he claimed that his ex-girlfriend hadn’t moved on and that she injured him first when he refused to break up with his fiance and that he killed her in selfdefence.

Diary solved murder

Because the couple lived togheter they searched their apartment and there they found a diary where the writer of the diary  wrote about the murder. The diary belonged to the girfriend. In the diary it said that the boyfriend and the girlfriend murdered the victim together. The girlfriend later confessed to the crime. The diary was a major part of the trial against the couple.

The couple will serve prison time.

Both teens will serve a long prison time. Melissa Smith will suffer 11 years in prison and Kieth Jacobsson will serve 15 years in prison. The mother of the victim says that she wasn’t satisfied with the sentence, she said ” My daughter was a dedicated young girl with everything in life to achive and they took it from her and there is not enough prison time in the world to make up for what they did.”

The chief of police think this is a disaster.

The chief of police said in a press conference that he thought this was the biggest disaster this town has ever faced. He also assured people that the police department will do whatever it takes to make sure this never happens again.
